At first I was going to give the WW to the Alpinist (which, if you haven’t heard, has closed shop). That was until I read this thread on Mountainproject and realized that I love to hate the people who love to love Alpinist. Then I was going to give it to Alex Puccio for the shit she’s been crushing. But a minute ago, I realized that today is Wig’s birthday. How often do you get a birthday on a Whiskey Wednesday?!  And since Wig was THE guy who got the …

Good Morning P&C and Merry Wednesday, or should I say Whiskey Wednesday! Yes, today is the day we salute those we hold in respect. This week is no different, but yet it is. With the announcement that we here at P&C are sponsoring our very first party at the 24 Hours of Horseshoe Hell Competition this month in Arkansas the Wig gave me a great idea. Hit the Jump to figure it out. So, this Week’s Whiskey Wednesday goes out to Team Patagonia! Sonnie Trotter, Brittany …

Well, I am doing this from my phone, so it’s going to be short. This week’s honors are bestowed on the boys who slept on our couch and floor most of the summer. Since we didn’t have interns this summer these two were about as close as itcame. Cheers to Les and Kevin, our boys from the durty durty! We are currently headed to the real Whiskey Wednesday to send these lads off in P&C style! Maybe some updates through the night. This could …

Merry Wednesday and Happy Mid-Week. Last night we celebrated the birth of Cassidy Hill in the People’s Republic, by celebrate I mean we indulged in libations, many libations. So, I guess I jump started my Whiskey Wednesday festivities. My night ended by hugging Cass no less than 10 times and telling him “I love you man.” Guess I get emotional when I drink. Anyhoo, on to hump-day heros…This Wednesday we acknowledge a powerful force in sport climbing. If you don’t recognize the name Patxi, then …

This week’s debacharous salute goes not to a single person, but to a single action. We’ve all done it, some more than others. It can be exhilarating, frustrating, mundane, and frightening. I’ve seen it done with grace and style, however, I’ve also seen it completed in the most unsightly fashion. You may know it as falling, taking a digger, or whipping.
I could tell you some lame story from my own vault of whipping history, but I choose to give you a brief story of whiptastic proportions.
The …

Wooooooo Hooooooo! We are back with some Jack Daniels or Early Times (depending on your budget) vengeance!!! It’s been a while since the prestigious Wednesday debauchery award has been presented, but alas, we have returned and are psyched about this Week’s hero!
Okay, so here is the situation. Most of you know that we have been Rifle bound the past 4 weekends in a row. We love Rifle and now that you know the “scene” in Rifle (thanks to A.B.) you may appreciate this scenario from the …

The weekly toast comes to you with praise and astonishment this week as Justin Sjong and Tommy Caldwell have accomplished big wall free business the likes of which have not been seen. These two skilled and super sick professionals have once again proven themselves on the big stone, freeing Magic Mushroom (IV, 13d/14a) in the Valley. Crazy and continuous MM is the future of free climbing on Big Walls. Not only did they climb the route, but they did it in style, swinging leads from the ground …

Both Bronco and I have jobs that let us work outside. Usually this is great, especially because you get random days of because of shitty weather. This, however is a mixed blessing. Weather being the unpredictable animal it is, we usually have a good feeling that we’ll have say, Thursday off because the weatherman has predicted almost guaranteed rain. But nothing is certain till 7 am when you get a call from the boss. This basically means you have two options for midweek drinking. Either wait till you actually have …

This week’s shout out shots of virtual sourmash are raised in the direction of our very own brother, friend and favorite asshole, Sean Dosset! This Irish bouldering dynamo has been kicking ass and taking names as of late. Sean’s domain seems to be endless by establishing FA’s throughout the state of Oklahoma. Give him giant granite boulders, limestone caves, or sandstone bluffs he’ll crush!
A highlight for Seany boy this past season has been a longterm FA project at the base of Lost Dome in the Wichita Mountains …
