Yesterday, Finland’s Nalle Hukkataival finessed Jade, just before dark snow clouds pummeled upper Chaos Canyon with slush. Known to some as the hardest problem in the U.S., Jade was first imagined by Dave Graham in the mid 2000′s, established by Daniel Woods in 2007, repeated by Tyler Landman, Paul Robinson and now Nalle. Jade’s no roadside boulder. At the moment, the hike to upper is a snowy, postholing, sneaker-skiing adventure that leaves most people damn exhausted. Nalle’s efforts were impressive to say the least.
