We are a little upset over here at P&C. I don’t feel like a whole lot of badass climbing has been happening lately. I mean there are a few things. Like that V16 that old guy did in that other country. And little Matt Segal sent new super scary and hard thing in Eldo recently too, but on the whole I feel like not too much is going on aside from Chris Sharma’s ever expanding list of 5.15′s going up in Spain and frankly it’s old news. Maybe I’m just …

Hey check it. We got some Patagonia lovin’! Cedar Wright is out there with Renan and they cut a video for us (and you) check out their blog at Vericalcarnival.blogspot.com (note the P&C shot glass. fully rad)

We have been infrequent in our posting as of late and we are sorry. I would say it’s not like us, but it actually is very typical. All the same. Bronco finishes taking his BAR exam today after leaving P&C for nearly a month of studying. We are drinking heavily tonight in his honor, but not just his. I want to salute the warm weather we have been blessed with recently. It’s going to make things like the picture to the right more prevelent around your local crags. I also …

If you don’t live under a rock then you probably know that the U.S. Bouldering Championships were this past weekend at the Spot gym in Boulder. If you paid any attention at all you know Daniel Woods and Alex Johnson crushed hard enough to clench the titles. Their accomplishments are worthy enough to drink to tonight except for the fact that neither one of them are old enough to buy their own alcohol.

Will Stanhope is a name you might know if you’re lucky or a name you won’t know if you’re an poor fool. He’s just a down to earth Canadian that silently crushes along as he travels about the world. He has a super pleasent demeanor and just absolutely owns the things he sets his sights on. Which is why he’s getting WW honors this week. He just made one of the more proud ascents I’ve ever heard of in the single pitch trad realm.

A reader sent this to me today, and I couldn’t help but share it with the rest of you since A) it’s about whiskey, and B) It’s about whiskey triumphing over evil in the fight against killer sofas. Apparently an old blue hair somehow tripped and got trapped by his sofa. He was stuck there for 60 hours. A whiskey bottle rolled within reach and he grabbed it and took a sip.

Josh Wharton is a badass. The man is about as hard as hardmen get and probably one of the best all around climbers in the country. A couple weeks ago, he sent 5.13, v10 and M10, all in ONE WEEK. Any one of those accomplishments would represent a lifetime achievment of most folks. I mean there aren’t many people who have climbed 5.13 v10 and a M10 period, let alone in one week.

Cedar is getting Whiskey Wednesday for a few reasons. First and foremost because he promised to buy me a special tonight at the downer. Beyond that though Cedar has begun teaching me the finer more nuanced parts of the climbing life. I have no idea what it must be like to be a pro climber. The only real clude I have about is that you get to climb a whole lot which I have gotten to do lately since I don’t have a job. Cedar seems to have his shit …

Alright everyone it’s time again for another super duper P&C mega competition.
New Years is awesome. You drink a lot of champagne (or sparkling wine…), you stay up later, sometimes you get to kiss strangers because that’s what you’re supposed to do at midnight. Shit I watched Limit kiss TWO girls at midnight one time. I’m still not sure how he pulled that off actually. Anyway, this contest has nothing to do with photos, captioning them, or sending them to us.

Chris Sharma isn’t a secret. He’s pisses all over projects like he was writing his name in the snow. Sometimes I get sick of hearing all the shit he’s sent. If people wanted they could write a whole magazine that solely covered his ventures and it would still probably get published more times a year than Alpinist. No matter.
