halloweenEveryone loves Halloween. Parties are happening everywhere, there is an abundance of free candy, and girls dress up in slutty outfits just because they can get away with it. As we get older though, the motivation to dress up seems to wear off a little. We can’t go door to door and get candy from sweet old ladies. We don’t have class Halloween parties to attend anymore. Our parents aren’t buying us our costumes anymore either. With that in mind I’ve come up with a list of climbing costumes anyone can make and wear with little trouble, little money and little sobriety. (more…)

Seems that every city in the universe has a climbing gym, some better than others.  Out here in the front range, where every third person climbs 5.13, we are lucky enough to have 3 1/2 climbing/training facilities.  While all of them have their attributes, the new kid on the block, Movement, seems to have their shit pretty dialed in… (more…)

In honor of the snow that dropped on the front range today Bronco and I decided to go on an alpine adventure. Alpine Adventure is something I have no interest in, but today we made a special exception.

We made it a photo essay. Hope you enjoy. (more…)

I have some more stuff for you all to look at.  and I’m real sorry this is just like an event update but I mean… deal with it. Two things for just the front range crowd and then there’s another think I think you’ll be interested in.

First up for all you people who like rad things, Conrad Anker and Jimmy Chin are speaking tonight at the boulder theater about some badassery. It should be worth checking out. Shit it’s my birthday today and I STILL might go just because it’s going to be that awesome. Check the details here.

Next, two more crazy ass alpinetards are talking about more crazy stuff they do in the high altitude. Jim Whittaker and Ed Viesturs are speaking on the Mountain Film Tour in Golden at the American Alpine Club theater. This one isn’t happening until tomorrow though. So if you’re into this kind of thing you should definitely check it out. Me? I’m happy these guys play in the snow so I don’t have to. Leaves me free to plug gear closer to sea level or clip bolts with an approach less harrowing. Find out the info on this event here.

Last on the list is this wonderful new video series our friends over at Spadout.com are doing with Timmy O’Neill. They are going to start posting up an episode of Timmy Tuesday each, you guessed it, Tuesday. They should be entertaining so be sure to hit up the site On November 10th which is, as I understand it when the episodes start.  Anyway!

This is the trailer and below that is an exclusive look at the new series.

Whether it’s the Rifle Cleanup, the Red River Rendezvous, or the International Climbers Festival, climbing events are awesome. Usually, there is beer, dancing, lots of shenanigans and typically at least a few girls.  And often you end up spending a lot time wondering if you going to get laid. If only you knew the answer ahead of time, you could save yourself a lot time and energy, which might be better spent projecting instead of scheming how to get into some chicks pants that you have no shot with). To help with this difficult task, I created this handy flowchart,
